In the era of big data, data stored in network structures has become increasingly common, leading to the development of social network analysis, which has garnered growing attention from the public, scholars, and policymakers. Currently, the popularity of online social networks such as WeChat, Weibo, has brought revolutionary changes to social network analysis. The interpersonal interactions within online communities, as well as the interactions between offline and online social networks and their impacts on individuals, organizations, and society, have made network analysis an essential perspective for understanding issues in various fields, including social structure. This course is an interdisciplinary undergraduate course designed to provide fundamental concepts of social network analysis, analytical approaches, network structure data mining methods, and practical applications in the field. The course will also incorporate systematic thinking methods to help students develop comprehensive analytical skills. |
